Most employers run and/or encourage placements with other companies. If you wish to partake in a job placement or secondment you should ask your employer. This could be useful if you are looking to set up your own business at some stage as courses around doing this can be expensive.
If you are made redundant or are notified that you have been selected for redundancy, this could be seen as a real opportunity for you to begin running your own business.
